Ruth GRIMSHAW Obituary
GRIMSHAW, Ruth Emma
With deepest sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing of Ruth in the early hours of Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto at the age of 81. Ruth was born in Toronto and was the only child of Richard Anson and Emma Ruth Barber. Loving mother of Richard of Toronto, Robert of Horseshoe Valley, David (Penny) of Port Carling and William (Virginia) of Ottawa. Awesome Granny of Tobin, Jennifer, Adam, Brandon, Matthew and Emma. Ruth attended Branksome Hall and trained as an R.N. at Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. After raising her four boys, Ruth returned to her first love as the resident school nurse at Havergal College in Toronto. A life long summer resident of Florence Island, Lake Rosseau, Ruth will be sadly missed by her many long-time Muskoka friends. Ruth was actively involved with Youth Link-Big Sisters where she was President of the Rosedale Circle and served as a member of the Board of Directors. She was recently appointed to the President's Honour Roll for her over 30 years service. She will be greatly missed at the meetings by her fellow Big Sisters. Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West (2 stop lights west of Yonge Street), on Monday, July 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held Tuesday at EGLINTON ST. GEORGE'S UNITED CHURCH, 35 Lytton Boulevard (at Duplex Avenue), at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Youth Link-Big Sisters, Havergal College or Branksome Hall would be appreciated.
