I am so glad Ruth had a chance to relish the successful publication of Quae Nocent Docent. It will live on as a commemoration of her talent and her devotion to integrating art forms into healing from the trauma of life with mental illness.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Ruth but my dad Barry always told me wonderful stories and remembered her fondly. They go way back, and he loved her. I spoke to her once on the phone when my dad was sick in the hospital and I was touched by her kindness and powerful words. I can only imagine how much she will be missed, not just by my dad but so many others.

I knew and valued Ruth Ruth as a student at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). She was a joy to have in the classroom and especially the course Exhibiting Disability History. Ruth Ruth joined a dozen other students, alumni and faculty in creating the activist disability history exhibit called Out from Under: Disability, History and Things to Remember - the first of its kind in Canada. She profiled the stories of female psychiatric patients whose long years of unpaid labor was crucial to the running of the institutions that incarcerated them. Ruth Ruth had profound feeling for all who suffered. Everywhere she went her smile brought light. Our world is diminished by her passing....
