SANDRA BOUGHNER Obituary

(nee Hodgkins, July 14,1939 -July 2, 2025) With profound sadness, Sandy's Family announces her passing, on her terms, after eight years of angry and migrating Cervical Neuropathic pain. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; and her beloved family, Gordon (Stephanie Labbe), Michael (Janet Richardson); and adored grandchildren, Matthew (Natalie Prsa), Andrew, Tiffany, Scott, Jennifer (Niel Jacobsen) and Samantha. Predeceased by son, David (Allison Huycke). Sandy led a rich, giving and fulfilled life. Born in Toronto to Margery and Oaklyn Hodgkins, Sandy attended St. Clements School, where she became a Prefect and school sports Captain. She was a councillor at Camp Wapameo for several summers. She graduated from Wellesley School of Nursing, '61. The "Wellesley Girls" became her most treasured and lifelong friends. She and Bill were married in 1962. Sandy continued her nursing career at Sunnybrook Hospital while volunteering with The Junior League. When her family moved to Oakville, she worked at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and briefly volunteered with the Maycourt Club. She was an active member of The Oakville Club and enjoyed tennis, badminton, bridge and "Cabaret ." She was a member of The Caledon Ski Club, enjoying many friends, supporting her son's and grandchildren's competitive ski racing and family trips to Tremblant and Whistler. Twenty summers were spent entertaining and restoring the "new" Ffamily cottage in Muskoka, where she was a member of The Lake Joseph Club. Her most recent move was to "Ennisclare," where she embraced the community and made many new friends through her keen interest in bridge. Throughout all of this, Sandy enjoyed travel,- always with close friends. Vacations in Portugal and Spain, Tours of Northern Ireland, Ocean Cruises to: The Baltic, South America, The Mediterranean, The Caribbean. River Cruises, on The Mississippi and The Danube. A memorable Safari in South Africa, a brilliant trip on The Rocky Mountaineer, with regular trips to Bermuda and more recently to Florida. A celebration of Sandy's full, supportive, caring, giving and a life well lived, will take place in Oakville at St. Judes Church, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Donations in her name (if you wish) to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences at koprivataylor.com.

Sadly we share the passing of a beloved Wellesley classmate.
Sandy and I go back many years, St Clements school, camp Wapameo ( she at the boys camp and I at the girls camp), and at Wellesley, where we developed loving lasting friendships.
Those friendships were enjoyed and renewed every 5years for
50 years !!
Sandy will be dearly missed and I send love and prayers to Bill,
Gordon, Michael and all family members and friends
Love... Liz Tinker.
