SANDREA WOODS (née Ogilvie) October 8, 1932 - October 22, 2022 Sandrea Woods died suddenly at home on October 22nd, having brought us happiness and inspiration for 90 years. Mum's ready smile and optimism made our world a better place. She was a loving and much-loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Born in Montreal, Quebec on October 8, 1932, to parents Bartlett and Ruth Ogilvie, Sandrea was the eldest of 5 siblings, Michael (Ann), Margaret (Ted, dec.), Judith (Schofield, dec.) and Caro, now Sister Caro John. A gifted artist, following school in Montreal, Sandrea studied art in Paris and at Finch College in NYC. She met her husband, Shirley Edwards Woods (dec.) and married at 23, moving to Dad's hometown of Ottawa to raise their three daughters, Victoria (Lance Rowley), Julia (David Owen) and Penelope. She was an adored and adoring grandmother to Jackson Owen. And for our entire lives was a constant and unwavering support. She was an active volunteer, from the Palliative Unit to English Teacher, Book Fair and Tawny Owl. Mum and Dad retired to the South Shore of Nova Scotia for 35 wonderful years - with the last 5 years in Lunenburg. Intelligent and curious, she was a voracious reader with a love of mystery novels (and was Dad's astute editor on his books). She loved travelling, with memorable adventures in North Hatley, Martha's Vineyard and Victoria, BC. Other passions included her dogs, birds and wildlife, gardening, and a glass of sauvignon blanc. We are grateful Mum had an incredible quality of life for 90 years, and was happily planning her next trip, which she was researching on her iPad. A celebration of life will be held at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg on Tuesday, November 1st at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a wildlife centre or the
Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.
