After a long battle with cancer, Sarah passed away in her loving parents' arms.

With the unwavering support of her faculty and advisors, Sarah continued her studies, researching financial statistics, all the while undergoing treatment at M D Anderson and the Cross Cancer Institute. Sarah was an active person, using physical and mental well being to fight her disease. She was an outdoor counsellor at Rice, FIS ski racer, and ski coach. Her travels took her around the world, from Calgary to Easter Island to Bali where she became an avid diver, and on to Japan, where she and her sister discovered 'beginner sushi'. At home in Houston, and later on the national circuit, racing autocross in her car, 'Benny' was her passion. Her many friends in the Houston SCCA, and National SCCA welcomed and encouraged her.
