SAUL MUSKAT Passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, following a valiant 8-week struggle at the Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Loving and beloved husband of Susan (Berneman) Muskat for 50 years; devoted father of Cyrelle (Jonathan) and Arianna (Michael); and adoring grandfather of Isla, Halyn and Joely. Born in Milan, Italy, in 1947, he later immigrated with his family to Toronto and started his Canadian life in the Kensington Market area. He obtained his first degree in chemical engineering, followed by a businessdegree leading him to a career as a chartered accountant, first at Price Waterhouse, and later in private practice devoted to a diverse clientele, many of whom became lifelong personal friends. Despite the complications of living with a liver transplant for 13 years (+1 day), he continued to support many charities, pursue his love of travel, his insatiable thirst for reading and passion for world history, politics, architecture, music and golf. Generous to a fault and deeply principled, his family and many friends will miss his wisdom, wit, intellect, and creative problem solving. He never forgot his humble beginnings and dedicated himself towards an appreciation of the important and finer things in life. Forever indebted to the Toronto General Hospital and their incredible lifechanging work in the Multi Organ Transplant Program. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ajmera Transplant Centre, (416) 603-5300 (
