Scott EBENHARDT Obituary

SCOTT A. EBENHARDT It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Ebenhardt on January 25, 2022. Scott will be deeply missed by his wife Tracey and his two beautiful daughters, Helana and Ali. Much loved by his mother Alayne, father Frank (pre-deceased), his brother Mark and sister Beth and his sisters-in-law Carrie and Melony. He will be fondly remembered by his father-in-law, Roger Fisher. And missed by his most loved side-kick Mini Cooper. Remembered with love by his nieces and nephews, Dani, Christine, Taylor, Fraser and Lauren. Scottie lived a full life, traveling early in his youth to Hong Kong with his parents, starting his schooling abroad, then back to Lakefield College School, where he enjoyed a world filled with life-long friends cherished to this day. During his time at LCS he headed up the ski team, the cricket team, the soccer team; it seems the list was long, but nothing held him back ...touted 'one of the best athletes in the history of LCS', no doubt with the assistance of Sean, Scott, Steve, Mitch and later Cam and JP, with so many more of you dear to his heart. Sean, no greater friend was ever had - thank you. After University, Scott met his wife Tracey and shared the next 33 years together with their two amazing girls whom he is so proud of: for the ladies that they are and their continuing accomplishments. No father could be happier. Spending holidays in the Keys or north in cottage country, Scott kept life simple. His passion for Manchester United led him to the love of 'the beautiful game' ~ playing with Graeme at McMaster University and later Harold and Julien and countless others. He loved to shoot the barbs with buddies H, Darrell, Paul and Gary - 'Arizona Again?' Scott had a natural gift in making friends wherever life would take him, and through that he gained special friends like Dave, Marcel, Kevin and so many more that touched his life and surely were touched by his. He found joy in connecting with friends over zoom both stateside and locally, their support and respect got him through many of life's challenges. As most are aware, Scott's passion for helping others was learned at an early age, participating in 'Outward Bound' programs and recipient of the 'Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award'. He developed a strength for helping others find their potential and succeed. Climbing and learning along the way he moved from entrepreneur to a role creating social awareness, recently ending his career with Diabetes Canada to take on a position with Outward Bound Canada, completing the circle. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, we would direct you to Outward Bound Canada so you can help Scott finish his journey to help others and make a difference. A private celebration will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Due to Covid restrictions, the family has been limited to a select number of in-person guests. The ceremony will be live streamed at 3 p.m. Please see www.humphreymiles.com for this link. Scott, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Was an honour to play cricket with Scott as an exchange student in 1982. We won all our games that year! - Scott was a big part of my exchange experience - never really got a chance to thank him enough for that - searched for him over the years to reconnect - couldn´t find him on social media - just received this news shared by my exchange buddy Jim Alexander - heart goes out to Scott´s family - amongst all those who loved him there is another person here in India who will hold him - and all of you - in his thoughts - Go in Peace old friend - and I hope in another time and space we will be able to play cricket again

Sincere sympathy to Scott´s family, wife and daughters and to his mother,Alayne. When Scott was at Lake College School with Jim, while his parents were in Hong Kong, he became a part of our family as we were living in Peterborough - he was such a great young man and grew to be a wonderful adult and family man. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him - Rest In Peace - you were taken too soon.

Dear Tracey Helana, Ali, Alayne and family. With the greatest condolences and sympathy from myself and my family for your loss. From the first time I met Scott 8 years ago when he hired me at Diabetes Canada, I knew we would get along. He was a mentor, a father figure in many ways who I could as for advice, and became a great friend and trusted colleague. I always told people he is the best boss I ever had. He was smart, articulate, and had a great way with people that I admired. I will miss playing golf together and ribbing each other about silly stuff and talking about soccer and hockey. Scott was always interested in how I was doing, and always made a point to ask about my daughter. He truly cared about everyone. He will always hold a place in my heart and I will truly miss him.

There are no words to express our sympathy to you Tracey, Helena, and Ali. Scott was a second son for me and a "brother" to my son Sean since age 12 at Lakefield College. He was truly my "adopted" son. One of the most kind and caring people I've ever known. He enriched our lives in every way and will be in my heart forever. God bless you all .
