SEAN MAHAN Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Sean Martin Mahan announces his passing on October 16, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. As one of his dear friends said, "He so often got into scrapes, and this is his last one." Sean was born in Gosport, UK, on September 13, 1963, and immigrated to Canada when he was in his 20s. From an early age, he was passionate about creating, designing and building, which he carried with him throughout his entire career. Sean was loved by family and friends around the world. He was known for his sense of humour, infectious laugh, gift for storytelling, kindness and generosity, adventurous spirit, love of the outdoors, calm presence, and boundless curiosity right up to the end of his life. He was endlessly creative, and his eye for design and imagination were truly one of a kind. Above all else, Sean was a devoted and loving father to his two daughters. They were his world, and he was theirs. Even when apart, he remained deeply present in their lives. He cherished every moment with them and leaves behind countless memories filled with love and laughter. Sean was predeceased by his parents, Terence and Gillian. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Sophie and Madeleine; brother, Lawrence; sister, Bryony; brother-in-law, Teddy; nieces, Katie and Orla; nephews, Oisin, Oliver and Michael; uncle Mick and aunt Ali; and many cousins. According to his wishes, Sean was cremated following a private family viewing. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the many caring professionals who helped Sean throughout his journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sinai Health Foundation (www.sinaihealth.ca) designated to Other - Dr. Alexandre Zlotta's Research Fund (S_X_RE_02555), which focuses on bladder and prostate cancers.
