Sergio Bergagnini passed away peacefully, on Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lovea, Carnia, Italy - a picturesque mountain village nestled in the Carnic Alps near the Austrian border. Sergio was passionate about many things. First and foremost, his family, world travel - both personal and professional. A gifted mind and devoted learner, he excelled academically, becoming an aeronautical PI. These skills led him to serve as a pilot in the Italian Air Force and later as an innovator in the global steel industry. We called four countries our home: Italy, Mexico, the United States & Canada. With his natural modesty he never mentioned that he went to the USA with an 11-month non-extendable working VISA. After six months, he was given the Green Card for his work merits. His successful career spanned continents, with ventures that took him across Europe, Asia, North and South America. His work left a mark not only on the industry, but on the people and communities he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marisa; his sons, Tullio and Emanuele; his daughter-in-law, Melissa; and his cherished granddaughters, Isabella, Carolina, and Olivia. A loyal friend, Sergio will always be remembered for his honesty, integrity, and generosity. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he upheld. Sergio was in close contact with his Italian relatives , his younger brother, Ettore; sisters-in-law, Gladys and Giuliana; and his nine nephews and nieces, whom were all very close to his heart. He will be remembered always and dearly missed. If you desire, memorial tributes in Sergio's name can be made directly to Epilepsy Research at Sickkids Foundation at SickKids Childrens Hospital (
