(nee Smith, 1946 - 2026) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at the Welland Hospital on Friday, February 13, 2026, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of 55 years to Ralph. Loving mother of Tara and her partner, Jeremiah Boyter, and Gavin and his wife, Melissa. Cherished grandmother of Charlotte, Courtland and Paige. Dear sister of Thomas Smith and his wife, JoAnn. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Evelyn Middleton; and her parents, Margaret (Hyde) and Lloyd Smith, all of whom she lovingly and devotedly cared for. Sharon also cared for those in her community through her work as a Public Health Nurse and through her church. She was an adored and adoring friend. She was a spiritual thinker, an avid reader of books and the press, a knitter of socks, a player of both the guitar and the piano (not very well), and a traveller. She journeyed, often solo, to Switzerland during the 1966 Winter Olympics, hiking multiple times across England, visiting the dearest of friends in Australia, and with Ralph, back to their beloved Nova Scotia, where he had once proposed (for the second time) on a rock at Peggy's Cove. She tried her very best, and was the best, daughter, wife, mother, Nana and friend. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Fonthill United Church. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Sharon can be made to the
Charity of Your Choice. Condolences may be shared at
