I'm learning about Mrs. Kent so late that I'm not sure you will even see what I'm writing. However, I'll try as I'm still saddened by your loss. I've been sending my Christmas cards to Calgary so I guess she missed my attempt to stay in touch. We had a lovely phone conversation about ten years ago and she sounded just the same as I remembered her as a child. I can't believe your family moved to Calgary in 1975 (when I was 8) because I have such vivid memories visiting your house for "elevenses". Somehow Mrs. Kent managed to visit with my Mom (Pat Hindle) and play with me at the same time, seamlessly. Our game of "last touch" always had us both laughing.
My Mom moved to Indiana to be near me so I could visit and help care for her. She lived in a memory assisted facility just ten minutes from my home. She passed away in August 2020 at the age of 84.
As so much time has passed since you have had to say goodbye I hope your hearts are healing. But, I know, that the pang of loss can still bring tears and that's just fine. All the best, especially to David and Gordon whom I have memories of too.

Shelah and her late husband Colin were our neighbours in Calgary. Ater Colin passed away we were able to help Shelah in some small ways with household problems, picking up her mail after her surgeries and we always found her so up beat and full of life. Our sincerest condolences to her family, she will be missed.
