SHERI CLIFT Peacefully, with family and loved ones by her side at Victoria Hospital, London on Monday, February 20, 2023, Sherrill Ann Clift (née Turner) of London, at age 86. Predeceased by Gerald Clift, her husband of 52 years. Lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alison (Bill O'Kruk) of Calgary and Sarah (Howard Epstein) of Halifax; and the grandchildren she adored, Aaron and Liam and Tovah. Sister of the late Jan Turner of St. Thomas. Born in Sioux Lookout, Sheri grew up in Brantford, Ontario. University study took her to Kingston where she earned a BA from Queens and met her future husband, Gerry Clift. After several years living in West Germany where Gerry was stationed with the Canadian forces, they settled in London, Ontario, where they raised their daughters. A patron of the arts, Sheri devoted her life to cultivating all things beautiful. After working as a gallerist at Trajectory Gallery, she was employed in administration at University of Western Ontario, first in the Visual Arts Department and then in the Research Office. Following her retirement, she and Gerry travelled the world, delighting in the sights and sounds of cultures and peoples vastly different from their own. Sheri will be missed by her large and varied circle of friends. She was loved by all who knew her, and many emphasize her wit, her friendliness, her beautiful smile, and her striking style. An important member of Sheri's family in her later years was her beloved cat, Ziggy, whom she adopted from the London Humane Society. The family would like to thank all those who cared for and comforted Sheri in her final weeks, especially the Palliative Care team at Victoria Hospital. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Idlewyld Inn and Spa (36 Grand Ave, London), on Monday, February 27, from 2- 4 p.m. Memorial contributions to the London Humane Society or My Sister's Place would be appreciated.
