The larger community will remember Orme for a wide variety of accomplishments ranging from entrepreneurial ingenuity, community leadership, adventure-making, fostering strong bonds between family and friends, acts of generosity, and for his authentic, memorable personality. He was a lifelong entrepreneur and his life experiences culminated in what would be the crowning achievement of his professional life, S.O. Asher Consultants Ltd. As a young man Orme taught friends to waterski at Emma Lake and spent time at Gimli Beach Manitoba. Mid-life, Orme developed, captained, and managed the Northcote River Cruises on the South Saskatchewan River. My condolences to the family. I worked with Orme on the Surrey Memorial Royal Colombian Hospital Foundation Home Lottery for several years. He was a visionary who’s ideas spawned a new industry in the province. I was grateful for the opportunity to work with Orme for the benefit of Royal Columbian Hospital.
