STANLEY ROZICKI Obituary
On October 1, 2025, following a short illness, Stanley William Rozicki passed away peacefully in Mississauga, Ontario, surrounded by his beloved family, including his wife of 65 years, Anne, and his daughters, Paula Roberts (Bill) and Elizabeth Sharp (Andrew). Born of Polish immigrants on January 31, 1939, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Stan was the youngest of five children. He never forgot where he came from, and the values he learned through the challenges of his boyhood shaped who he was and how he lived. He remained close to his sisters and extended family throughout his life. Stan was a self-made man graduating from Sydney Academy in 1956 and launching his notable career initially with the Royal Bank in Sydney, and then Halifax and Toronto. He climbed the corporate ladder with executive roles at Richardson Greenshields, RBC, and finally National Bank, and was respected for his smarts and natural gifts as a mentor. His career took him and his family across Canada, until they ultimately settled in Port Credit in 1977. A gifted baseball player in his youth, sports were a passion for Stan throughout his life as a fan and as a player. Most notably, he was an accomplished golfer who traveled to play top courses across the United States, U.K., and Ireland. Much more than just an activity, golf was the forum through which Stan made many lifelong friendships. He served in a number of significant volunteer roles at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club, surrounded by his golfing brotherhood of friends, headquartered out of the Brydson Room. Stan loved family time - never happier than when he had everyone around him, be it at family dinners, the Sharp's cottage, or his many visits to see the Roberts in Charleston, South Carolina. His daughters were his pride and joy, and he was quick to encourage and celebrate all that mattered to them. The foundation of family that Stan and Anne built together was strengthened further when grandchildren, Delaney and Evan, were born. He loved watching them grow and delighted in hearing all their stories when the family gathered. He had a soft heart for all the family dogs over the years, enjoyed Willie Nelson, old movies, and University of Oklahoma football. The most humble legend you would ever hope to meet, Stan was a unique combination of wisdom, strength, and gentleness, and made everyone he met feel special. He was beloved by many communities of family and friends, all of whom cannot believe he is gone. He will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye and for having added value to the lives of so many as a business leader, as a friend, and as a role model. In lieu of flowers, tribute donations to First Tee Canada, a charity that empowers youth through the game of golf, are welcomed. Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".
