I am just finding out about this after a year of Stephen's passing. He was my mentor at McKinsey and guided me patiently as I joined the firm. I remember him to be gentle but firm, supportive and overall just a great guy. I am sad and shocked to learn about this. RIP Stephen

I got to know Stephen over the last few years during his time as an executive in automotive. He was smart, funny, and caring. He spoke fondly of his family. My deepest condolences to his family.

I fondly remember working with Stephen at a financial services client in Canada. He was a great guy. Thoughtful. Supportive. Smart. Client focused. I´ll miss not having a chance to work with him again. I learned a lot from you. Thank you, Stephen.

Jennifer, Anderson and Estelle - I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

Steve and I were friends in Atlanta when we both worked for McKinsey and subsequently helped each other through some turbulent times. He was a good, thoughtful colleague and friend that I counted on when times were tough. Hard work and honesty was an ethic for him and I admired his commitment to the people in his life and making a positive difference.

It is heartbreaking to think that he is gone so early in life, knowing that he had so much more to give. The world is a lessor place without him and he is deeply missed.

Jennifer and rest of family, so sorry for your loss. It's a shock to me as I had talked to him recently about a project.

Stephen and I entered the Atlanta office together and were friends. Went rock climbing. And I packed up his house for him, well supervised the movers, after his divorce and move to Canada. Since then, had only occasional contact, but did several months together on a gig in 2016.

Again, shocked and sad. If anything I can do to help, please reach out.

I met Stephen in 2005, when he was a Partner at McKinsey and led the Operations Academy, training young Associates on lean operations. He was a wonderful (and patient) mentor and became a good friend. He'll be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I first met Stephen when he joined CIBC Investment Banking as a tall, skinny young man starting his career in the late 1980's. We became friends and then lost touch for many years until I saw the announcement of his appointment to McKinsey as a partner. We reestablished our friendship over many meals of Indian food and craft beer which he equally adored and 6am walks in the Brickworks ravine. Our talks were far ranging, reflecting Stephen's curiosity, wit and intelligence....and we always talked about Anderson and Estelle, the joy that they brought him being readily apparent.
In recent years Stephen faced his challenges with courage and remarkable resilience, never losing sight of what's important to him-his family, his values and his friends. I will dearly miss him and extend my deepest sympathies to Jennifer, Anderson and Estelle.

Stephen may have been a colleague first, but most importantly I remember him as a good friend. While Covid may have put a bit of a break into our regular "lunches" and "catch ups", I always looked forward to sharing a meal or a coffee with Stephen. Our conversations would touch on many subjects - his most recent business opportunities, new homes, boats etc... but most of all, they focused on the love of his family and the challenges in achieving balance across many competing needs. Rob & I both will miss his company. We send all our support to those that meant so much to him - his family!

Jennifer, Anderson and Estelle, please accept my condolences on your loss. I got to know Stephen from our time together on the Covenant House Toronto Board. As you know, he was a long-standing community volunteer and Board member, and ultimately Board Chair. Through his support, leadership and inspiration, many young people, directly and indirectly, benefited from his commitment. He was a strong believer in the potential of young Canadians, no matter what their current circumstances, and took great joy in seeing Covenant House residents overcome their challenges and embark on a path to independence.
