STEPHEN OSBORNE Obituary

STEPHEN ALEXANDER WINSTON OSBORNE Stephen died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday December 29, 2023, from a cardiac event. He was 49. Stephen had spent the few hours before his death doing one of things he truly enjoyed – participating in a class at his gym. Stephen leaves behind his devastated and shocked parents, Monica and William 'Pat' Osborne. Stephen also leaves behind his brother, Chris Osborne, his sister-in-law Cindy Clarke; and their three children, Sophia, Lucie and Max Osborne who were beloved by Stephen. Stephen was the nephew of Franca D'Aversa (Ezio - deceased), Emanuele Frantellizzi (Anna), Silvio Frantellizzi (Carmela), Luigi Frantellizzi (Memma), Patrizia Biancucci (Mario) and Diane Partridge (deceased). He will be missed by his cousins Elena, Angela, Mauro and Michael D'Aversa, Michael and Stephanie Frantellizzi, Carla, Annamaria and Valeria Frantellizzi, Giorgio and Irene Frantellizzi and Michele and Roberta Biancucci. Many of these relatives live in Italy but remain very close to Stephen and his family, particularly given Stephen's recent visits to Italy to celebrate family weddings. Stephen was a graduate of St. Louis Separate School and St. Martin Secondary School in Mississauga and the University of Waterloo where he made good friends with whom he remained in contact. His part-time work at Pizza Hut while in school was another source of several long-term friendships. Stephen devoted his professional career to EES Financial where he worked for his entire career after graduation. Stephen found his professional home at EES and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with clients and colleagues alike. Stephen truly felt like a member of the EES family. Stephen's spare time was focused on his love of sports. He spent time with friends watching games and he frequently travelled to see his favourite sports teams in action. He was on a mission to attend a baseball game in every MLB stadium. He attended the Super Bowl the last time his team, the San Francisco 49ers, made an appearance. He made countless trips around the U.S. to watch baseball and football. Stephen adored the Montreal Canadiens. He was an ardent fan of professional wrestling from an early age and attended Wrestlemania on more than one occasion. Of course, he also enjoyed sports in Toronto (other than the Leafs) and frequently attended Jays and Argos games with friends and family. Stephen often made his out-of-town sports trips on his own but had a remarkable ability to make friends with those seated around him. Stephen also spent much of his time with friends, colleagues and clients out on the golf course. Anytime a game was on offer, he would not hesitate to drive across the GTA to fit in a round. Stephen's family are so grateful for the outpouring of support and assistance that has come from Stephen's friends (in particular Ryan Wickramasekera), their neighbours and those at EES. The family also wishes to thank the First Responders who attended to Stephen, and the coroner Dr. Anna Wong for her personal commitment to Stephen and his family. Dr. Wong has been vital in helping his family navigate the complexities that arise when someone passes away alone without family contact information on his person. Stephen will be truly missed. Friends and family will be received on Sunday January 14, 2024, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, Ontario. Funeral Service will take place at the Glen Oaks Home Chapel on Monday January 15, 2024, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. with a reception to follow. Additional details are available at Glenoaks.ca In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or, in recognition of Stephen's love of baseball, to the Jays Care Foundation, dedicated to making sports accessible to all children.

To the Osborne Family and Steve's Colleagues at EES:

We are heartbroken to lose Steve. We watched this `young´ man grow into his role over twenty-three years, first as back-office support to Sue Rechil and then as our advisor.

We have fond memories of watching Steve develop more interpersonal confidence and evolve his interaction style as he moved from processing columns and rows of numbers to addressing life decisions. Every meeting we had with Steve included some sports, some travel, some reports on the family and lots of business. This past December, we had an in-person meeting scheduled with him, but he sent an e-mail early that morning suggesting a Zoom conference; he was feeling under the weather. Our last time to enjoy Steve´s company was at our golf course in September. His arm was strong. His drives were long. And they were seldom straight! We had fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Osborne, you raised a fine son. Sue, Scott and Terry, you mentored a fine advisor.

We´re going to miss you, buddy!

To Steve's whole family, my deepest sympathy at your devastating loss. Having had a business relationship as a client of Steve at EES throughout his years there, we came to be friends. We shared stories about our families (my sons are his age) and it was clear he loved you all and was very proud of his nieces and nephew. He loved coming to Montreal, where I live. I can only try to imagine how you will miss Steve and please know I will miss him greatly, too. I will continue to cheer for Les Canadiens as he would do! Most sincerely,
Betsy Kremmel
