Steve, you were an amazing musician and singer. I've been a Sweet fan since the early 70's and grew up with your music. With your passing a little of my teenage years died too. The seventies was a great time to be alive. Thank you for the music. I wish I could have met you in this life. Deepest condolences to your family. Have fun in that big gig in the sky!

I was flo.red when absolutely no one told me of Steve Miller.s death. I still remember the heavy footsteps, the root beer floats, and the drive in, showing : Down and Out, Take the Money and Run. The producers survived the competition.s wipeout after the first week.s gross was counted.

I got to meet Steve this past October at the Hard Rock in Sioux City before the gig. What a wonderful person. We talked about music and our bass guitars. He was very gracious of his time and signed my Desolation Blvd cd. Great musician, singer, bassist. One of my idols which made it special to meet him. And of course rocked! One of the highlights of my life. Prayers to his family.

I'm a very young fan, I've discovered Sweet only in 2019. But you've changed my life in such a tremendous and positive way in a very short time. I knew I was about to get into something truly special, when I saw and heard Steve in the Ballroom Blitz video in his fairy cape. I wish I could say thank you to Steve in person. It's a tragedy that he is gone, but death is inevitable for everyone. I'm sure he knows how thankful we all are. As I like to say, he's now giving us a wink from the sky. My sincere condolences to the Priest family. Stevie lives on in his music and our hearts. His sense of humour and incredible personality will not be forgotten.

Where to begin, dear Steve ... I was one of those starry-eyed 13-year olds, Germany, 1974, when I first saw your picture in a Bravo magazine - the Sweet. And there it began. And though we had never met, you became like a good friend. Part of your magic. You have and continue to bring more joy than you could ever imagine through your golden talents, endless quick wit, your genuine personality, those eyes and smile - never a dull moment watching you. NEVER. You lit up the stage. Always. To say you are missed -- there are no words. To say thank you for making our world a truly brighter place -- an understatement. Losing you is so sudden -- far, far too soon. But there never would have been a right time. A reminder that life is ever so fragile. And so, may we take the truest comfort, though, in knowing, without a shadow of doubt, that you are with our dear Brian and Mick, making the Heavens all the richer. I can hear it now: "Are you ready, Steve?!" It is there that I cannot wait to meet you. Now THAT will be a day. You live on in our hearts through every video clip, every CD, every DVD. Thank God for them. Thank God for you. Deepest respect and sincerest love. X

We all have to die, but Steve lived his life and enjoyed his life, family and friends.
I have known lots of famous people, and he seemed the happiest in general and was not bound by fame.
He was a very real and down to earth person.
His family meant the world to him and your home was his sanctuary.
He was extremely talented.
People sometimes fail to mention his talents probably because they are overwhelmed and don't even know where to begin.
He was more than just a pretty face.
The body of work he created with The Sweet is staggering, yet he never even mentioned it unless I asked him.
In was lucky enough to see him perform with The Sweet many times, and even luckier that he asked me to help him reform the band with him at one point. Although that didn't happen, I will always cherish that moment and times we spent together or on the phone.
He made me feel special like I was the famous one. Steve never once said he didn't want to talk about something, and answered countless questions tirelessly and selflessly.
Many times this made me reflect and examine my own worth and value, giving me confidence and a reality check.
Steve Priest was an exceptional person in many ways and I will always love him and hold him in the highest regard as a friend and brother. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
We will carry Steve in our hearts forever.
RIP Steve Priest

I dont really know what to say - it's difficult to put into words how vital The Sweet, and Steve in particular, were to me. My earliest memories are dancing round the front room to my mums Sweet records, and now we still watch videos on youtube and put the albums on in the car and sing along badly at the top of our voices. Rest in power and perfect peace, and condolences to his family and friends x

I was only 9 years old when I saw my heroes Sweet in Vejle, Denmark October 1974. It was my very first rock concert ever and happened during Sweet's prime time. It was magical. As one of my all-time favourite Sweet songs go Heartbreak Today... indeed. Keep it sweet up there Stevie.
