STEVEN JOHN DISKIN 1954 - 2021 It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Steven (Stevie) Diskin. He would, however, want you to have a belly laugh rather than shed a tear! Steven loved to make friends everywhere he went. He was variously a coal miner, teacher, scholar, stock trader, farmer, skier (downhill and water), fisherman, great shot (with a rifle and a golf club), and the life of the party. His ability to carve the lake on one ski, and to build a perfect sauna fire were without compare. He also was a fantastic wheelman. Stevie will be remembered most for his open heart, his generosity and his playfulness. He leaves behind many friends and family members who will all miss him dearly. He is survived by his parents, Jack Simon and Virginia Diskin; his family in Toronto, Kate (wife, nee Ticehurst), Matthew (son), Rebecca (daughter-in-law), Heidi and John (grandchildren), Alli (daughter); his brothers and their families, Robert, Bradley (and his husband Alex), David and (his wife Faith and their daughters Zoe and Jade); his extended family in Winnipeg, Barb, Luce, Dan, Mary Jane, Maria, Paul and Jamie Debreuil; and the Stapp, Goke, and Higgins families. He also leaves behind his dear friends Kenna and Alf, Scott and Grit, Catherine and Rick, and Soraya and Dean, among so many others. A book of condolence is available at Morley Bedford Funeral Services (
morleybedford.ca) and in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to St. Michael's Hospital (
stmichaelshospital.com) would be greatly appreciated.
