Stevie and David were my resident Dons when I was in my first year at Trent University in 1967. Stevie and I shared a love of horseback riding and often rode together on weekends. At Christmas I looked after their dog, Daisie for the holidays. Lovely memories. My condolences to David, and the family.

My condolences to the family. I remember a summer afternoon with Stevie beside Lake Ontario editing the first edition of "The Litt Restaurant Guide". I sought her out when I was concerned about offending some folks to the point of litigation with my plain-spoken reviews. Her advice shaped the guide for ten years: "ALWAYS! Tell it like it is ... if you want to be a trusted source, keep telling the unadulterated truth ... and take out 'most of' the curse words". Always a fan.

While I'm no longer shocked at the passing of former friends and colleagues, the sadness never goes away; and, thankfully, neither do the fond memories.

We hired Stevie as the launch editor of Elm Street magazine in 1996. In our launch issue, Stevie wrote:
"Our goal is to inform you, amuse you, entertain you. We'll probably irritate you from time to time and no doubt we'll hear about it, but at least we'll never bore you." It was the best of times.

My condolences to the family.
