Sulev TOPPI Obituary
SULEV TOPPI (Sully) It is with wholehearted sadness that I inform you of the death of Sulev, my best friend, 'North Star', and loving husband. Sulev died suddenly and peacefully at Revera Leaside on May 6, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Asta and Hugo; and brother, Lennart. He will be sadly missed by his nephew, Rob (Kathy); sister-in-law, Jane; nieces, Kristene (Sean, their family) and Shannon; and relatives in Estonia and Sweden who we visited often and travelled with extensively over the years. Sulev and his family left their homeland, Estonia and immigrated to Canada via Sweden in 1950, settling first in Sudbury and then Toronto. We were married shortly after he graduated from U of T (BA of Applied Science) and received his P. Eng. Sulev's career in Canada and the United States evolved from metallurgical engineering to information technology as he transitioned from Anaconda Brass to Kendall International and The International Group Inc. Sulev enjoyed skiing, sailing, golf, bridge, travel, theatre and good times at our cottage on Lake of Bays. He especially enjoyed anything that was accompanied by old friends, good food, fine wine and a sauna! He thrived on friendship. Sulev's sincere, gentle ways and gleeful sense of humour endeared him to everyone. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. Anyone wishing to can donate to a charity supporting children or one of their choice.
