SUSAN ABERMAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Barbara Aberman, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Montreal. Beloved wife of Louis Dzialowski. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Arnold and Janis Aberman, Zave and Celia Aberman, the late Myrna and the late Jerry Schiff, and the late Rosalie Aberman, and sister-in-law of Yves Dzialowski and Michele Koenig. Adored daughter of the late Jack and the late Ethel Aberman. Much loved aunt of Stephanie and Bob Sherman, Jamie and Julia Lecker, Wendy Lecker and Peter Shaffer, Steven and Marci Schiff, Karen Schiff and Colin Trestan, Douglas Schiff, Robert and Aviva Aberman, Michael and Amy Aberman, Leslie Aberman and Justin Hulvershorn, Jessica Aberman, Eric and Danya Aberman, Maya Dzialowski and Nicolas Koenig, and admired great-aunt of twenty-two. Susan had an undergraduate degree from Bard College and graduate degrees from the Hotel School of Cornell University and Concordia University. She had a remarkable career, first in the private and then the not-for-profit sectors. Susan held leadership positions in the hotel and hospitality industry in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Geneva and London, England. After returning to Montreal in the early 2000's, primarily to care for her ailing mother, Susan was Chief of Staff to the Concordia University Provost's Office and then, for many years, Chief of Staff to the McGill University Principal's Office. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Monday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Shaare Zion Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at 3430 rue Peel #PH-B, Montreal, QC H3A 3K8. Due to the advent of Yom Kippur, Shiva ends Tuesday morning. As a mark of respect and appreciation for Susan's service, McGill University will be lowering its flag on Monday, August 17.
