Susan ALLARD Obituary

ALLARD, Susan Watson (nee Robson) R.N.
Peacefully passed away on April 21, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her family and friends overlooking her beautiful garden. 'Chippie', beloved wife and best friend of Leonard for almost 38 years. Loving mother to Kate and her husband Alan, Nicholas and his fiancée Emma and Jonathan and his partner Kate. Devoted 'Nanny' to Taylor, Robbie and Camryn. Dear sister of Richard and John. Susan will always be fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends, especially her 3 'Angels' Anne, Kelly and Mary. Susan's guiding principle was to love and to care for her family and friends, always putting others first, which was best exemplified by her long nursing career. Her nurturing spirit could also be found in her passion for gardening. She loved and cherished her grandchildren so very much and was looking forward to the upcoming birth of Jonathan and Kate's first child.
Friends will be received at the NEWEDUK FUNERAL HOME 'MISSISSAUGA CHAPEL' 1981 Dundas St. W., (1 block east of Erin Mills) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 25th. A Memorial Service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at the Church of St. Bride, 1516 Clarkson Road N., Mississauga, on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 12 noon. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sharon Sula and to the medical staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, especially Dr. Ian Tannock, Dr. Jeannette Vardy, Dr. John Bryson and to Ms. Terri Vanderkooy R.N. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan's name to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Sue is now amongst the angels that surrounded her beautiful life. Neweduk Funeral Home 905-828-8000 Online condolences at www.neweduk.com

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. Sherm and I dropped in at her home a few years ago when heading back home to Tennessee. She so kindly and graciously welcomed us and invited us to share the evening meal with her lovely family.

That she was the mother of our son's best friend is a tribute in itself. Kory is fortunate in having a wide circle of great friends and that Johnathan is counted as a " best" makes him and his family special to our family.

We are so saddened that Johnathan , his dad and siblings have to deal with this loss.

Sherm and I send our love , thoughts and prayers .
