Tadeusz RADOMSKI Obituary
RADOMSKI, Tadeusz (Ted)
Dr. Tadeusz (Ted) Radomski passed away peacefully, at home, after suffering 6 years with prostate cancer, on January 10, 2000, in his 78th year. He maintained his unique sense of humour (ALOHA TATA!), his interest and his mental agility until the end. Born February 22, 1922 in Warsaw, Poland, he was predeceased by his parents and siblings throughout Europe. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Grazyna; and his children, Yolanta, Witold, Christopher and Elizabeth. Having his youngest child at 51 kept him so young (or was it the Christian Dior face cream he started to apply recently?). Dr. Radomski practiced Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Fraser Valley for 30 years - in the early days, he was the only Ob/Gyn from Hope to Langley! Prior to practicing in Abbotsford, he had practiced in Humboldt, Saskatchewan - to think, a planned one year stay in Canada turned into a lifetime... . His dedication to his patients was unsurpassed and each of the thousands of babies that he delivered brought him a wondrous joy for Life. He decided to pursue Medicine after enduring the POW Camps of WWII, and ended his War years serving with the Polish Ander's Army 2nd Corps in Italy. He graduated in Medicine from the National University of Ireland, Cork, in 1955, and continued his specialized studies in London, England - continually having to survive, he supplemented his meager scholarships and initial income as a cook and pastry chef. He had a life-long passion for the arts and culture, especially for early musical instruments, and opera. He was an avid duck hunter, music box restorer, rose gardener, Internet surfer, and had a fondness for great food and wine. He was conversant in the major Slavonic and Romance languages. His knowledge of the arts and sciences was limitless and he had an encyclopaedic memory that was bottomless. Learning and sharing this knowledge from books and people were the means to his perpetual quest to better himself and his environment. His drive, integrity, profound interest in every aspect of promoting his childrens' successes, and challenging those around him to excel will be inimitable. He was respectful and proud, and in turn received the respect and the pride of his family and colleagues. Prayers for Dr. Radomski will be held Friday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford.
