Terri NICHOL Obituary

We are sad to announce Terri's sudden passing from a stroke; she was an inspiring and energetic presence to her family, many friends and former colleagues. Terri will be deeply missed for her vibrant personality, unwavering kindness, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. Coming to Canada from Amsterdam at the age of 13, Terri was raised in Winnipeg before moving to Toronto in 1972. She was employed at Loblaw's HQ, where she met the love of her life, David Nichol. Terri was a talented chef and baker, which, combined with David's quest for new flavors and experiences, took them to destinations all over the world. Over the next 40 years, Terri and David shared a passion for food, travel and entertaining, cultivating many deep and lasting friendships along the way. In the years following David's death, Terri kept the spirit of those early days alive by maintaining an adventurous nature and a wide circle of close friends. She was a constant source of energy and enthusiasm for everyone in her life. She leaves grieving her daughter, Leigh Gravenor (Patrick Dickinson) and their children, Emma, Harris and Miles; and her late son, Michael Gravenor's daughter, Savannah. The family is grateful for the compassion and humanity displayed by the nurses and doctors of St. Michael's Hospital Trauma and Neurology ICU.

I fondly remember our time together as my Nannie took me shopping, out to Shopsy's, and to the movies with Terri when I was my daughter's age or having dinner with my grandparents at Terri and Dave's. I remember Terri's great laugh, her kindness, and love for life. She will be missed. Deepest condolences to all of Terri's friends and family during this difficult time.

Dear Terri's family,
I am Terri's downstairs neighbor.we were Just friendly neighbors for many years. The last few years my husband was very ill. My door would open every few days and there was Terri, unannounced , simply coming to keep me company. She sat with me , with Paul , with any Family who were over. She was so compassionate , understanding and fine. We became very good friends. I will miss her very much.
The world was a better place because she was in it.
My condolences to you her dear family.
