BURKE, Terry September 22, 1950 to August 28, 2013
On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, Terry passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, as a result of complications arising from a recent fall. Terry is survived by his wife, Carol Street, his son Kevin, daughter-in-law Denise Figueiredo, daughter Emily, and his grandson Joshua. Also survived by his sister Patricia Burke of Vancouver, Jim and Sonia Burke of Calgary and Arizona, and Dan Burke and Emilie Rissman of Charlottesville, Virginia, and their respective families. Predeceased by his parents, Orville and Margaret Burke. Terry was best known for his work in the film industry as a foley artist and for the short films he produced and directed. He had many other skills and interests, including sailing, skiing in Alberta and British Columbia, baseball, and cooking. He was involved in his community in coaching both boys and girls baseball and in helping to establish the Swansea Figure Skating Association. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 2 p.m., at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of Jane subway, followed by a celebration nearby. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the CAMH Foundation or Community Living, Toronto. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
