THOMAS ARTHUR BECKETT After more than 97 years of a life lived to the fullest, The Honourable Thomas A. Beckett, K.C. JD, LLD, died, as he always wanted, of nothing too serious, with Meralee at his side, at the Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Lawyer, founder of the Hamilton Conservation Authority, civil rights activist, Superior Court Justice, Doctor of Laws, author and family man, Tom had a profound impact on the countless people he encountered during his life. Whether providing legal advice, ensuring the perpetual preservation of greenspace in the region for all to enjoy, dispensing justice in the family court, or simply as a patriarch, he contributed extensively to his community and family. A celebration of life will be held at the Tamahaac Club, 180 Filman Rd., Ancaster, ON, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 1 - 4 p.m. Please visit www.mitchellfuneralhome.ca

Meralee,
Though it has been many years since we have had the pleasure of spending time with you and Tom, our sadness at learning of his passing is undiminished. There was something so special about Tom. He was kind, engaging, thoughtful, hilarious at times and importantly, never caught up in the enormous power that his position as a Justice of the Superior Court of Ontario gave him. I so admired him for his humility. Tom leaves behind a good name, a wonderful reputation and a life of achievements of which I am certain you are so very proud. Please accept my and Bev's sincere condolences. Though I will be travelling on September 26th, my thoughts will be with you. May Tom's memory be a blessing to you and the family.
