Passed away peacefully in West Vancouver, B.C. on May 28, 2001. Tom was born August 11, 1912 in East Kilbride, Scotland. He and his parents emigrated to Canada in 1915. He spent his youth in the Beach area of Toronto, Ontario. He was recently predeceased by Lillian, his wife and constant companion of over 60 years. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Carolyn McLennan and her husband Peter of North Vancouver B.C. and their children Andrea and Brent; and his son Tom and his wife Pam of Toronto and their children Catherine, Jennifer and Kimberley. During his younger years, Tom was a terrific athlete. While studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto, he was awarded the university's Bronze ;S and ;T for outstanding achievement in academics and sports. He was known as a gentle man and a wonderful family person. On behalf of Tom, his family expresses a heartfelt thank you and note of utmost appreciation to all the staff and caregivers at Hollyburn House, West Vancouver, and to the thoughtful reflections of Rector John Mash of St. Catherine's Capilano Anglican Church, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Suite 1402, 222 Queen Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1P 5V9. A private family service celebrating Tom's life has been held at St. Catherine's Capilano Anglican Church.
