I knew Tom when we worked together for the Ministry of Natural Resources in London during the late 70's/early 80's. Following my transfer to London from Aylmer in 1979, Tom was the first person to welcome me upon my arrival in the London office offering to render assistance whenever I needed it. I shall never forget that. My prayers and sympathies go out to the Burton family at this sad time.

Tom was a great guy and a real friend. His wise council and considered opinions were welcomed by all those around him. It was a pleasure sitting on the Rec and Common Committee with him for 17 years. He will be dearly missed by all of his Summit family.

I am very sorry for this great loss, I didn't know him very well, only from the corridors and gardens of the Summit, I have never seen a garden as well cared for as he did, and I have kept it for these 7 years that I have lived here, may God receive his soul and comfort his closest friends and family. Go with God!

I lived at the Summit for 14 years and truly appreciated the immense amount of work Tom put into the garden every year. He was also exceptionally kind to my disabled child, who has a special interest in plants and flowers. He would happily let my son follow him around, hand him tools, and generally let him help out. Tom was a very special person and he will be missed.
