Rose Marie Young Mills

Rose Marie (Burkley) Young Mills, 83, of Blairsville died Friday, March 7, 2003 at Latrobe Area Hospital.

Mrs. Mills was born Dec. 7, 1919 in Bairdstown, Derry Township, the daughter of the late John and Rita (Laney) Burkley. She formerly worked at Torrance State Hospital and was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Blairsville. Surviving are her sons Glenn S. Young and his wife Martha Ann and John "Jack" L. Young and his wife Bonnie, all of Blairsville; Also surviving are four grandchildren, Pam Bowers, Lynchburg, Va., Sandy Sloan and Suzanne Rocks, both of Blairsville and Sheila Drexler, St. Pete Beach, Fla.; Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas; infant daughter Rose Young; a brother, William and a sister Rita. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday in SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Blairsville by Fr. Chester J. Raimer. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
