Timothy BLOOS Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Timothy Arthur Bloos announces his passing on May 5, 2024, at the age of 61, in Toronto. Timothy "Tim" was born October 29, 1962, to Arthur and Carol Bloos in Regina, Saskatchewan. Tim was predeceased by his mother in January 2020. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Jean (of 34 years); his father, Arthur; and parents-in-law, Anthony and Joyce Hackney. He is also survived by sisters, Kathreen (Tom) Heisler and Terilyn (Namit) Bloos; nieces and nephews, Nadine (James) Bloos, Michael (Haley) Bloos, Brittany (Daniel) van Nes, Lauren and Ellie Hackney; one great-niece, Emma; and great-nephews, Ryan and Luca. Tim grew up to become a man of quiet yet impactful presence, known for his engaging storytelling, quick wit, and infectious laughter. His life was marked by significant milestones, including meeting his beloved wife, Jean, during a work assignment in London, England, and their marriage in Regina on October 29, 1989, followed by a blessing ceremony in England on June 9, 1990. As a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1992, Tim's professional accomplishments were numerous. He held multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Common Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) from McGill University, and was called to the Bar in Ontario and New York. Tim was a respected speaker, having presented at the Canadian Tax Foundation and other national and international conferences on cross-border tax planning. As a Partner in MNP's International Tax Services group, Tim specialized in advising Canadian-based companies with foreign operations and those interested in expanding into foreign jurisdictions. His passion for history and travel took him and Jean to various parts of the world, where they would collect art and hunt for antiques. When not travelling, Tim and Jean enjoyed spending time at their home in Niagara-on-the Lake exploring the local area and wineries. They also revelled in quick getaways to their Las Vegas home, where they explored the city's sights, shows, and desert terrain. Tim, in loving memory forevermore. May his passionate spirit be remembered with a smile as he continues his travels onward to places of beauty and grace. A Celebration of Life will be held in Regina at a later date to honour Tim's passionate spirit and love for life.

Hi Jean, Dave&Sandy here,
Kinda weird, I have not chanted in years and decided to have a session. After about twenty minutes you guys popped into me head so I googled and found this. My deepest condolences . Tim is one of the good guys. I always enjoyed your company, more than you could know. People say time heals but to be honest when you lose someone you love ,it doesn't. He will always be there and eventually only the good times shine through and the hurt from loss changes.
You take good care
with Big Love

My heart and thoughts go out to the Bloos family. Tim was a great partner at MNP and a great person. I loved the times that I was able to work with him. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming that he made all our meetings so enjoyable. He will be missed.
