LIU, Dr. Tom Tsu TungPassed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 73.
Beloved husband of Levy for 43 years. Loving father of Marissa (Greg Glaister), Jessica (Matthew Kelleher), Theresa (Kirk Roth) and Selina (Paul Klages). Cherished Lolo of Lucy, Elsa, Evie, Emerson, Isabella, Teddy, Annie, Ella and Charlie. Survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lily Liu, Minio, Nene, Pe and Nani and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved brother Johnny.
Tom was passionate about his life's work as the founding nephrologist at the Grand River Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit. He was an avid golfer and tennis player, and he loved his family dearly. The Liu family tribe will forever miss their 'Tribal Chief.'
Tom's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m., on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation-Renal Dialysis Program would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
