TRACY LLOYD Obituary
May 28, 2025 Mr. Tracy Henry Lloyd was born on May 1, 1929, in Toronto, and passed away peacefully in Montreal, aged 96. The beloved son of Nora and Tracy Elmore Lloyd; brother to Mary McCabe, Nora Kerr, and Lois Smallman. Tracy attended UTS, then U of T, graduating with honours in 1951, then qualified as a CPA. Tracy was a talented sportsman, earning his U of T blue on the Water Polo team, being a scratch golfer at Elgin House in Muskoka and a lifelong sailor. Following his wedding to Johannah Pryal in July 1961 in Toronto, they moved to Montreal. He spent 60 happy years with Jo, travelling the world until her death in September 2021. They had three children, Tracy Edward Lloyd, Andrea Rockall, and Stephanie Duncan, and gave them a wonderful childhood. He is the beloved grandfather of Melanie, Sophie and Sebastien Lloyd, Charlie and Oli Rockall, and Darcy and Frank Duncan. Having entered the family pulp and paper business, this was acquired by Domtar, where Tracy worked until retirement, with a secondment in the UK from 1979 to 1982 to reorganise a British subsidiary. He was an avid sailor, competing with his Laser "Happiness" at weekly BYC regattas on Lac St. Louis, and sailing in Muskoka, where he taught his family to sail. Later, he and Jo enjoyed sailing around the Canadian waterways with friends on their C&C 29. He was a key member of BYC as Treasurer and Commodore. He and Jo were choristers and active members of The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, where Tracy acted as Elder and Treasurer. With his children all in Europe, he cherished the very special network of friends and family that visited or telephoned him regularly. Tracy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed. We will celebrate Tracy's life on Friday, September 5th, at Belvedere Cemetry, Senneville, with a service at 1 p.m. Visitation will commence at 11 a.m. and the service will be followed by a luncheon reception.
