By her own admission, Trudy has finally finished annoying and aggravating people, and is undoubtedly vying for the position of head gardener in the everlasting garden. Predeceased by her husband, Ray (2012); she leaves her much loved brothers, Brad (late Grace) and Rick (Phyllis); her adored niece, Kristen (Jack), and nephews, Andrew (Laurie), Mathew (Susan) and Owen; and her much admired great-nieces, Mackenna, Paige, Theran, Merrit and Aiden, and great-nephew, Tai. After 34 years of a satisfying career in education, Trudy transitioned from nurturing children to nurturing her beautiful gardens. Trudy and Ray travelled internationally to major cities and visited many private and public gardens while using local transportation and historical railways. After Ray's death in 2012, Trudy continued yearly visits to England to visit gardens with Cisily Garden Tours. Trudy was privileged to be born in London, Ontario, and the values of her time spent with her family and her experiences at Sir Adam Beck Collegiate, London YMCA and Camp Queen Elizabeth in Honey Harbour shaped the person she became. Trudy was a devoted contributor to the Retired Teachers of Ontario Foundation, which supports many programs to eliminate social isolation. If you would like to recognize her joy of life and exuberance, a donation in kind could be made to this wonderful charity. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Tuesday, July 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough, on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 11:30 a.m. Online condolences available at
