Left us peacefully in his 86th year, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Born in Rawalsar, India and affectionately known to all as 'Kaka', Gujarati for uncle. Caring brother of the late Nathalal and the late Amratlal. Loving and exceptionally devoted husband of 70 years to Paniben. Dear father of Ashok, Navin, Mahen (deceased), Kumud, Kapoor, and Dhiren and cherished father-inlaw of Anu, Sarla, Geeta, Kirtinjay, and Sophie, as well as father-inlaw-to-be of Arti Manaktala. Doting grandfather of Sachen, Sapna, Shernee, Sunir, Sagar, Saheel, Reena, Sheena, Sarit, Savan, Ishtar, Nikita, and Tisca. Beloved great grandfather of Nayali and Radha. Affectionate uncle of Jayendra, Damu, Kanti, Anju, Anil, Nemchand, Nyal, Sushila, and Mina. Leaves an unparalleled legacy of entrepreneurship, charity, compassion, determination, humility, and tender, devoted love. Service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Elgin Mills Visitation Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill where, in keeping with Jain tradition, friends are encouraged to wear light pastel colours.
