VIJAY TRICHUR Obituary
Vijay Kumar Trichur, a loving son, brother and uncle, passed away on October 27, 2025. He was 42 years old. Vijay had been ill and living in long-term care at Extendicare Mississauga for more than a decade. He suffered from a rare metabolic disorder called Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis (CTX). Vijay means "victory" in Sanskrit and true to his name, he fought CTX valiantly for years. Born on June 24, 1983, in Bombay, India, Vijay entered this world as an orphan. He was adopted by the Trichur family and immigrated to Canada when he was a baby. Vijay, who was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, is a graduate of George Brown College. He worked in the restaurant industry before he entered the advanced stages of CTX. His mother and father, Annamma and Venkitaraman Trichur, tirelessly cared for him until the end. Joanne Turner, his personal support worker, made him laugh and showered him with love. Vijay is survived by his parents; his elder sister, Rita Trichur; brother-in-law, Christophe Joly; nephew, Remy Joly; and niece, Cecile Joly. He will always be loved and never forgotten by his family and friends.
