'February 1940 - December 2025) With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vivienne R. Strong, beloved wife of Lawrence for more than 63 years; cherished mother of Nicole (Tom), Danielle (Tim) and Suzette (Matthew); and loving GrandVivi to Andrew (Emily), Samantha (Santiago), Adam (Ally) and Emily (Harrison). Lawrence and Vivienne left their wedding reception in 1962 and travelled to Southampton, where they boarded a liner originally destined to set sail to New York City. As fate would have it, there was a last-minute change and instead they docked in Montreal and took the train to Toronto, Canada, where they built such a wonderful and fulfilling life together. Soon after arriving, they decided to join the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club, and were soon part of a great group of lifelong friends. Vivienne was a top British player and an accomplished champion in Canada. Alongside Lawrie, she won the Canadian Open Mixed (1968) and a gold medal at the first Canada Games (1969). She also served as Canada's Federation Cup captain in the mid-1970s. Both on and off the court, Vivienne carried herself with quiet dignity and grace. Vivienne was humble in nature, tireless in effort and so graceful in manner. She will be lovingly remembered through her unwavering and selfless commitment and dedication to her family. Maintaining strong ties to family and friends in England was also exceedingly important to Vivi, who worked hard maintaining those connections and passing them on to the next generation. Her legacy is found in morals, ethics and values she passed on; as well as the memories she created, the lives she touched, the family she cherished and most of all, for being so deeply devoted and in love with Lawrie. In keeping with her wishes, her immediate family has celebrated her life in a private ceremony. Fond memories and profound joy will remain in our hearts and cherished forever. Friends are welcome to send condolences to the family at
