W. Dennis ENGELS

W. DENNIS ENGELS On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, W. Dennis Engels died in Toronto. He leaves his wife, Mary-Louise; his daughters, Stacey and Jenn; his son-in-law, Andrew Honor; and his granddaughters, Chloe and Naomi. Born in Vancouver in 1929, Dennis studied Medicine at the University of Alberta and completed his residency in Psychiatry in Boston. For over fifty years, he worked at the Allan Memorial Institute of Psychiatry/Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. The beloved teacher of generations of psychiatric residents at McGill University, he was a two-time recipient of the Sigmund Freud Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dennis was a passionate fan of jazz and a devoted rose gardener. The Engels-Honor family is grateful to the staff at Hazelton Place.
