POWELL, W. DOUGLAS
Took flight peacefully from his home surrounded by his family, at the age of 79 on Tuesday, March 30th, 1999. Devoted husband to his wife and life partner of 54 years, Marjorie. Kind and caring father to his twin daughters Susan and Liane, and his sons Douglas and Gordon. Lovingly remembered by four grandchildren: Emily and Nicholas Powell, Alison and Emma Marshall. Beloved father-in-law to Joanne Baker and Adrian Marshall. Greatly missed by his brother Bruce, sister Monica, and niece Jan Zimmerman and her family. Doug had been a pilot with the R.C.A.F. during World War II. He returned from Europe after the war and begin a dedicated 37 year career with T.C.A. - Air Canada. A gifted woodworker, an avid golfer, a good and honest man. ;Grief is not forever - but love is. Friends will be received at the Neweduk Funeral Home, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga (one block east of Erin Mills Parkway) at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 5th. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. If desired, remembrances to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
