With great sadness we announce the passing of Donald Wilson. Don is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Mason, with whom he shared over two decades of marriage. He is also survived by his two sons, Bradley and James Wilson; his daughter-in-law, Daniela; and his cherished grandchildren, Evan and Zoe. Also surviving are his brothers, Roger (Skip) Wilson and his wife, Ann, and Tom Wilson and his wife, Lin; his brothers-in-law, Robert Mason and his wife, Jeanette, and Martin Mason and his partner, Diane; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Hoggarth and Betty Marie Mason Fryer and her husband, Robert Fryer. Don attended Upper Canada College, Huron University College, and York University, where he earned his MBA. He spent many years as an independent financial planner, building a successful career through dedication and expertise. He developed not only business relationships but strong friendships with his clients. Throughout his life, Don called many places home, including Toronto, Vero Beach, Big Bay Point and Lake of Bays. Recently, Don lived in Predator Ridge, BC, just behind the second green, where he was surrounded by beauty and nature. He was well-known, respected and adored in the Predator Ridge community. Golf was a passion of Don's, and many happy times were found on the golf course, surrounded by his treasured friends and family. To Don, the camaraderie was as important as the game itself. His love of golf led to a special experience of caddying for the legendary Moe Norman at Jasper Park Lodge, and he often humorously recounted his attempts to keep up with Moe's prowess. A man who truly loved life, Don was known for his gregarious, kind and affable nature. He had a deep affection for his dogs. He will be remembered for his love for family and friends, his willingness to help others and his infectious sense of humour. He will be greatly missed! A celebration of Don's life will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the KGH
Foundation.com (Kelowna General Hospital).
