Wayne BINGHAM Obituary

WAYNE MITCHELL BINGHAM April 19, 1956 - February 9, 2020 Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Cherished husband of Ya Lin and predeceased by his wife, Diane. Loving and devoted father to Lisa (Andrew) and Mark and the most adoring papa to his grand "babies" Matthew, Leah, and Jack. Dear son of James and Donna Bingham (pre-deceased) and brother to Reid (Monika). Wayne will be fondly remembered by his extended family (the Desjardins) and his many friends and colleagues. Wayne was a well-respected Senior Financial Executive in the business community for many years and taught us all the value of hard work. His favourite moments during his short retirement were spending time with his family in his backyard enjoying each moment of every day. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed but his bright, shining light will forever live on in our hearts. Some days are diamonds and some days are stones; but every day with you was always a diamond. Burial service to be held in the Spring (Sudbury) and a Celebration of Wayne's Life for all family, friends and colleagues will be held in late Spring (Newmarket). Contributions in Wayne's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca or Diabetes Canada, www.diabetes.ca.

Very sad to learn of Wayne's passing. I interacted with him when he worked as CFO of Finning and I was working for a CN Pension. Wayne was a gentleman, bright and articulate. My thoughts are with his entire family for their loss. They have my deepest sympathies and condolences.

Such sad news! I had the pleasure of working with Wayne as his EA at Union Gas. As a Leader, he was genuinely respected by employees who were lucky enough to be in his chain of command. He was a kind and generous soul who took the time to listen. A wonderful family man too! I know he will be sorely missed by his loved ones. My heartfelt sympathy to immediate and extended family.

I had the privilege of working with Wayne during his time as CFO of Superior Plus. He was a smart, thoughtful and down to earth person who valued the opinions of those around him.
He was a mentor to many and will remembered fondly. My sympathies to his family.

I worked with and for Wayne for a number of years at what was then known as ICG Utilities in Toronto. I really liked and admired Wayne and learned a great deal from him. As an executive, I found Wayne to be extremely capable and supportive. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I worked for Wayne at ICG Utilities, as it was then called. Wayne taught so many of us who were lucky enough to call him our manager. He taught us to work together, to plan our futures and, most importantly, to understand our potential. Wayne was a man who understood the value of diversity decades ago. He used to say that it takes many different ingredients to make the perfect salad, nobody wants all lettuce. Wayne was a smart, generous and warm individual. We were very fortunate to know him.

I worked with Wayne in Calgary for many years, he was the one who welcomed me in the company, he was a top CFO who brought a lot of talent in the finance department. We worked side by side in an open concept office and his calm demeanour and pleasant disposition was always a pleasure. My sympathies to his family, he will be remembered always.
