WILLIAM K. ANDREWS, LLB, QC
September 11, 1935 – May 5, 2024
""Gradually and then suddenly""
William ""Bill"" Andrews passed away peacefully on May 5th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Margann for 53 years, a devoted father to Thea (Jay Wolf) and Ben, and a proud grandfather to Jack and Tucker. Born in Toronto in 1935, Bill was one of 6 children and the first of his family to be born in Canada after his parents, Kosta and Ilinka, immigrated from Macedonia with his older siblings. He held a deep pride in his Macedonian heritage and was actively involved in the founding of St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral and the construction of Canadian Macedonian Place. Bill pursued his education at Western University, where he co-founded the school's Sigma Chi chapter alongside a group of friends. Later, he attended Osgoode Hall Law School and went on to practice law for over six decades, often donating his services to community members in need. He proudly served on many charity boards and was honored to be awarded the designation of Queen's Council in recognition of his pursuit of legal excellence in service to his community.
Bill's competitive spirit shone through in his passion for racquet sports, but off the court he relished his role among friends as a boisterous merrymaker, raconteur and committed amateur musician. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends for his ""spirited"" guitar serenades, his renowned ""free advice"", his kindness and his huge heart. He will be remembered for his unwavering belief that there was a difference between right and wrong, that integrity was everything, that family came first, that hard work paid off, that the Blue Jays could win the World Series, and that he was the luckiest man in the world to be married to the love of his life, Margann. A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 78 Clifton Rd. in Toronto, on Monday, May 13th at 1:30. Reception to follow at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. Donations in his memory to Parkinson Canada or The Michael J. Fox Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Condolences may be forwarded through
