William (Bill) Ernest Bayes

On May 13, 2017, in Almonte
General Hospital at the age of
89, Bill passed away peacefully
Husband to the late Lorna Bayes
(Barber), father to Bruce, Mary
and the late Ann Carkner. Father-
in-law to Ted Turner and Ross
Carkner and grandfather to Mark
and Megan Carkner, close nieces
and nephew Bonnie, Judy,
Richmond, Brandy, Amy and
Amanda. After careers of
teaching, Bill and Lorna
established Jasper Apple Farm
for their retirement years. Bill
was a proud Rotarian with over
50 years service, and he was
honoured to receive the Paul
Harris Fellow award. A private
service will be held at the family
cottage on Mississippi Lake
