BIRCH, William (Bill) Deacon
Passed away peacefully, at his home, on Saturday, January 29, 2000 at the age of 85. A graduate in Civil Engineering from Queen's University in 1939, Bill was employed at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in Toronto for 30 years until his retirement in 1976. He is survived by his loving wife Doris; his brother Dr. Norman Birch, of New York; daughters Janet (Budgell), Karen, Laura (Smollet); and son Kelly. Grandchildren: Bill, Brahn, Jason, Telly, Brandon and Waverley. Great-grandchildren: Emmett, Keenan and Ethan. Cremation. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke (between Islington and Kipling Avenues), on Wednesday, February 2, 2000 from 7-9 p.m. Service of Remembrance will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 3rd at 11 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
