WILLIAM FRASER Obituary

With love and sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of William "Bill" Fraser on February 20, 2025, in his 86th year. Bill died at home in the arms of his beloved wife of 60 years, Kathleen "Kay" Fraser. Although born and raised in Toronto, Bill was a true Scot who cherished his Scottish heritage and proudly held citizenship in Canada and in the UK. Bill was educated at East York Collegiate, Ryerson Institute of Technology, McMaster University (HBA) and the University of Toronto (MA). Upon becoming a high school teacher, he taught business courses at Central Etobicoke High School/Westway High School for almost 30 years. He maintained his interest in the business world until the day he died. Bill and Kathleen travelled extensively around the world, often on cruises, with regular trips to Scotland and Ireland. These trips and family gatherings provided him the opportunity to indulge in his passion for photography. As a member of Kingsway-Lambton United Church, Bill volunteered his time generously to various activities, the highlight of which was Robbie Burns Night. Dressed in his Scottish regalia, Bill presented a towering figure at 6'6" as he enthusiastically toasted the Haggis in Gaelic. Bill is mourned by Kathleen, his family members and many friends around the world. Cremation has taken place, and in accordance with his wishes, his ashes are to be scattered in the Scottish Highlands. If desired, a tribute gift may be made to Dorothy Lee Hospice in memory of Bill Fraser at dlhospice.org.

Dear Kathleen, our family will miss Bill and we are thinking of you. Bill was always thoughtful of others, sending birthday cards and calling for a little "hello". He made a mean Caesar salad dressing-so delicious. I always enjoyed seeing each new bouquet in your room which he ordered weekly. You had a special partnership. Xoxoxoxo

Kathleen and Bill have been close relatives for years. We enjoyed family get to gethers. We shared luncheon trips to our boat and to their condo while we enjoyed catching up on family events. David and Kathleen are very close and Bill and I(Gail) would step back to let them chat. It was as if they did not know that we were there. Bill and I would joke that we were Wilson "outlaws". Things changed in March2020 while were in Florida. David spoke to them every other day and Bill would never forget to call. The visits became more supportive as Bill failed. Rest in peace Bill. You are in a better place.
