WILLIAM HEILBRON Obituary

BSc. Chemistry September 21, 1942 – January 25, 2025 After a lengthy battle with cancer, the Heilbron family announce the passing of William (Bill) Heilbron. Son of Theo Heilbron and Helen Black, Bill was born in Glasgow Scotland on September 21, 1942. He leaves behind two sisters, Sylvia Reid (Winnipeg) and Kitty Palmer in Glasgow. Bill immigrated to Canada in 1968 to Winnipeg but after one winter, he moved to Toronto. He met his wife, Beverley while working for Gilbey Canada as Quality Control Manager. Beside Beverley, he is survived by three daughters, Nicole (Murray McNiel), Lindsay (Clayton Jubb) and Andrea (Michael Burns). He leaves three grandchildren, Theo Burns, Hunter Jubb and Avery Jubb. He will be greatly missed by his dog, Holly. As a lad, Bill wasn't able to have a dog, so as soon as the couple bought a house, a dog became mandatory. A dog or two has been in residence ever since. Bill loved music, particularly the Beatles and was a devoted fan of the Glasgow Rangers Soccer Club. Bill will be fondly remembered for his quick Scottish wit and funny stories. After 30 years with Gilbeys (now Diageo), Bill worked for 25 years for Canada Post where he shared even more stories. Many thanks to our QB, Dr. Raymond Jang at Princess Margaret and his incredible team, the staff at Joseph Brant on 5 North including Dr. Fornasier, Nurses Kirin, Cathy and Maria. Cremation will take place this week and a Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, March 23rd at the Halton Navy Veterans Club on Industrial Street in Burlington from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Cancer Research or Burlington Humane Society are appreciated.

Bill was only in my life for a short while but the impression he left will last forever. What a pure man, thoughtful and selfless. He had the best sense of humour and his big heart spiked love and affection, especially for kids and dogs. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for your friendship, Bill.

Bev, Bob and I were saddened to hear of Bill's recent passing. Our thoughts are with you and your family. I had the privilege of working with Bill and the Operations group, at Gilbey Canada for a lot of years. He was a happy go lucky former Scot, like myself, never without a joke to share, great sense of humour and extremely well respected by fellow colleagues. Bill will be solely missed. Bill, Farewell 'til we meet again. "We're no'awa'tae'bide awa'.
