WILLIAM HYND Obituary
(April 13, 1929 – December 19, 2025) Perpetually driven to see what lay "over the next hill," William "Bill/Willie" will be remembered for his positivity, sense of fun and adventure, creativity and dedication to his craft of exceptional golf course greens, construction and design, love of Scottish music and dance, "down under" bicycle travels in retirement, championing of others, joy-filled friendships and love for his family. A bright light to the very end, he is dearly missed by children, Mary-Ellen, Robert (Donna), and Marlene (Neal); and grandchildren, Kaitlin, Bruce, Andrew and Robert, who recently gathered to celebrate his life. He is also fondly remembered by nephews, Fraser and Stewart Hynd; and family in his hometown of Dunfermline, Scotland, where the flag at Canmore Golf Course was lowered to half-mast in his honour. William will be commemorated alongside his brother, Joe, with a bench at Pittencrieff Park (The Glen), the beloved green space gifted to the people of Dunfermline by Andrew Carnegie. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the healthcare team at Meighen Manor for their compassionate care, always going the extra mile and for creating a truly wonderful community.
