WILLIAM MARSH MORRIS BA., BED., MED Citizen of the World Teacher Traveller Conversationalist Man of Faith Avid Bridge Player Loved to Drive Loved to Learn. Passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, August 22, 2008 at age 83 years. Beloved husband of Clarice Giffen. Predeceased by his first wife Pamela (nee Roland-Jones). Loving father of Susan Morris (Rev. John Young) of Waterloo. Loving Taid of Colleen Irvine (Matt McLean) of Toronto and Meghan Irvine (Andrew MacDonald) of Huntsville. Step father of Adrienne Giffen (Bob Murray) of Vancouver, Frank Giffen (Dana Smart) of London, England and Matthew Giffen (Erin Giffen) of Oakville. Marsh served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He graduated from University of Toronto, Victoria College and was a stand out player with the Varsity Blues football team. Marsh began his teaching career at Sir Adam Beck Collegiate, London, ON. He returned to Toronto and taught with the North York Board of Education. He completed his career as Principal of Emery Collegiate and Georges Vanier Secondary before retiring as Director of Cooperative Education and Summer School with the North York Board. He was also active with the Standardized Patient Medical Education Program (University of Toronto) and Islington United Church. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Islington and Kipling Aves.), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be held at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Etobicoke on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Islington United Church or to Sleeping Children Around the World would be greatly appreciated by the family.
