William RONAN Obituary

RONAN, William James 'Jim'

Peacefully and gracefully, Jim passed away on April 5, 2016, at the age of 85. Jim led a life of friends, faith and family. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (nee Tayler). Loving father to Chris and his wife, Wendy; Jane Roebuck and her husband, Dave; and Trish Ronan and her husband, Doug Ferries. He left a legacy to his adoring grandchildren who cherish the memories they have of their Poppa; Stephen, David and Mark Ronan; Sarah, Michael and Chrissy Roebuck; and James, Jack and Joey Ferries. Jim was born in Kenora, Ontario. A proud graduate of Engineering at Queen's University: Science, 1954. He spent his working years in the Ready Mix industry. His play time was enjoyed with friends and his family. That could have been on the ski hills or the golf course. He was a member at Lambton Golf and Country Club for 49 years. Jim was a fun, kind and generous man of honour. The testament to his life is the love of all who knew him. Please join us in celebrating a great man and remarkable life. Friends may call at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 409 Markland Rd., on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Jim, donations may be made to The Dorothy Ley Hospice.
