Bombay Wallah, avid tennis player, keen tomato and herb grower, accomplished stage and screen actor, devoted family man, award-winning audiobook reader, dedicated society Governor and consummate appreciator of pulchritude, William passed away on January 2nd. He was predeceased by his parents, Mac and Elsie; and brother, Graham. William will be very much missed by his son, Matthew (Nikki); granddaughter, Zara; sister, Murcia and former wife, Donna, as well as many dear friends. He will be remembered as a gracious host, a true gentleman with a dapper sense of style and a man of quick wit and repartee. My wife Jill and I knew Bill in Vancouver around 45 years ago. We all lived in the same building on Beach Ave. My parents knew his in the British Foreign Office world. I think that´s where he acquired his noted savior faire. We are sorry to learn of his passing. Bill was one of a kind. The best person to have at a dinner party. Generous, funny, wise. Best wishes to all who knew him and loved him.

I worked with William for many years in the public library audiobooks program. He was one of the favourite narrators and clients of the service were always thrilled to meet him "in person" at our annual meet and greet. William and I stayed in touch after we retired, meeting for coffee once or twice a year. I'm sad that he's gone. RIP William.
