YOLANDA WENDY BUTLER (née Aitken) November 15, 1931 - November 16, 2021 (Yolanda) Wendy Butler (née Aitken) died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of November 16, 2021. She had celebrated her 90th birthday with her family the day before. She was born in Toronto to Yolanda (née Croft) and John (Bud) Aitken (both deceased), and had an older sister, (Katherine) Joan Pipher, and younger brother, John Croft Aitken (both deceased). Wendy married Vincent John (Jack) Butler in 1955 and is survived by their daughter Lisa Deirdre Butler (and Robert Garlan of East Aurora, NY) and son Michael Thomas Ormond Butler (and Martha Allen of Tobermory, ON). Subsequently, she married Beverly Hopkins (1976-1995) and common-law married John Heaman (1996-2006); Luis Monton was her final companion. Wendy is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Aitken; nephews, Harvey and Mark Pipher, Jonathan, Christopher, and Anthony Aitken, and their spouses, children, and grandchildren; and her spouses' children who became good friends, Diane Johnson, Lynne Heaman, Kit McArthur; as well as the many wonderful lifelong and newer dear friends who deeply enriched her life. Wendy was involved in theatre and broadcasting much of her life, including acting in Stratford, England and ON; acting, producing, and directing plays in Toronto and Kingston with Domino Theatre; script assisting on CBC's Tabloid and other television shows in the 1950s; performing as Miss Wendy on Romper Room on Kingston television in the early 1960s; reporting on CBC Radio Consumer Affairs in the 1970s; and then as Consumer Coordinator for the Canadian Standards Association until her retirement. She was very deeply loved by her family and her friends.
